Canon EOS 350d + Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8 XR Di II Lens + 1 gb Sandisk extreme compact flash. Price: 350 dollars.
 
The camera is in a good working order and takes amazing photos.
I have had problems with the flashlight recently, It does not pop up all the way sometimes, which I am sure is very easy to fix.
 
I have plans to go backpacking in Asia and must therefore be as light as possible, which means that I will have to downgrade from an SLR to a compact.
 
Search the internet for a better deal and as you are on the World Wide Web, check out the reviews for the Tamron lens! It is superb!:)
