Carpets for Communities is a gender empowerment, income generation project that stops child labour, prevents child trafficking and returns children to school. The Marketing Manager plays the most crucial role in our expansion process by creating the demand that the expansion is based on. They will also have a lot of responsibilities that overlap into other areas such as Production, Quality Control, Recruitment and Training and systems implementation. Location: Poipet, Cambodia Duration: 24 months, starting September 2008 Inclusions: Return flights, insurance and a good living wage ($1,200 AUD / month) Essential Minimum Qualifications: - Tertiary education with major studies in Development or Business or other areas deemed relevant to the project - Can do attitude Essential Minimum Experience: - 1-3 years work experience in project management, fair trade, product development, marketing or a relevant production related business - Experience working in a developing country would be an advantage - Proficiency in speaking Khmer (Cambodian) or Thai would be an advantage Desirable: - Demonstrated ability to perform well in a developing country As this is a gender empowerment program we have a strong preference for women but will consider everyone carefully.
