FARM MANAGER (voluntary position)
A suitable person is required to manage the Worldview Centre for Intercultural Studies (CIS) property farm based at St Leonards, Launceston, Tasmania, as follows:
· Be an intentional member of the team of Worldview involved in providing Holistic training for reaching people and planting churches.
· Maintain the Worldview farm within the general goals of WEC as a training ministry and practical environment which will help students become better practical servants of Jesus and be able to take their place as good church planters.
· Enable the Worldview farm to be creative, efficient, and contribute to the budget and kitchen of the Worldview Centre;
· Work together with the Farm Advisory Council and Leadership Team;
· Organise ‘farm prac’ with Worldview students on Thursdays, and as needed;
· Order chicks and raise them to lay eggs, and feed and care for the laying hens;
· Organise hay harvesting in Nov/Dec;
· Plant and maintain the vegetable garden and poly tunnels;
· Manage and organise the farm irrigation.
· Maintain the orchards;
· Care for the beef cattle and calves;
· Check and maintain fences regularly.
Worldview is also currently considering the possibility of setting up a trial Community Farm project on their property to provide skills and income for refugees and migrants in Launceston.
